Puerto Galera is a macro photographer’s heaven. There are
hundreds of species
of nudibranchs found in the area (700 at last count). Blue
ribbon, moray and snowflake eels, lionfish, various species of
parrot, damsel and trigger fishes, and of course, the perennial
favorite of any South Pacific reef species, Oceallaris, the
clown or anemone fish, recently made popular by Disney/Pixar’s
film Finding Nemo. Once in a while, large species such as tuna,
black tip sharks and mantas can be seen. The hard and soft coral
cover are in amazing shape here even after the much talked about
El Nino and La Nina cycles that devastated much of the world’s
reefs.Have a look at our Photo gallery to get an idea of the
range of critters that can be found here. They are rather large
files, so please be patient, it may take a while to load the
images. Part 1: Puerto Galera -
