Enriched Air Nitrox

Extend your no decompression time by using Nitrox. Get more out of your dives. The SSI Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Course teaches you how to dive using Nitrox. Nitrox is simply air with more oxygen in it. More oxygen means less nitrogen which is the gas that limits your dive time. Divers use Nitrox either to extend their no decompression time over a normal air dive or they use it to add conservatism into their dive plan. Many divers say that using Nitrox leaves them less tired than when they dive with air. This course will teach you how to select the best Nitrox mix for your dive, how to plan and execute your dive. It will teach you the safety concerns you need to know about using Nitrox and how increased oxygen affects the dive and the diver.

COURSE CONTENT

Theory only – this course is a non-diving course, however most divers choose to take Nitrox out for at least one dive during their stay. A tank of Nitrox is simply an additional cost to your dive. Most divers choose to take this course in combination with other specialities. In this case, we offer the diver 2 tanks of Nitrox to use on their other speciality dives at no extra cost.
